We look forward to seeing you at our annual event, which provides an opportunity for you to learn valuable information from industry professionals.

We are excited to host this event online for the first time. Although we'll miss seeing you in-person, we have worked hard to develop an online event that allows you to network with other attendees and our valued sponsors/exhibitors.  In between presentations, you will be able to easily find and connect with individuals or small groups using live video.

This full-day program is approved by the IDFPR for AIREE to provide six hours of instructor development credit that may be used by:

  • Licensed Pre-License and Continuing Education Instructors who are required to complete instructor development training and sexual harassment prevention training before their license renewal.
  • Pre-License and Continuing Education Instructor license candidates who must complete instructor development training in connection with their initial license application.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Friday, October 23, 2020  |  8:45 am to 4:00 pm
Online / Virtual Event

The Disciplinary Process for IL Real Estate Licensees
Craig M. Capilla, J.D. is a trial lawyer who has represented numerous real estate professionals in licensing matters.  He developed his skills as a staff prosecutor for the IDFPR, where he tried more than 60 cases.  His combined experience working for the regulator and advocating for licensees makes him a subject matter expert and resource to industry.

Mr. Capilla's presentation will help attendees to better understand the IDFPR disciplinary process, including possible resolutions.  Instructors and supervisors will become better prepared to set expectations for students who may one day (or already) be the subject of a complaint, investigation, or formal action.

IDFPR Division of Real Estate
Mario Treto, Jr., Director of the DRE, along with members of his staff, will join us to share important updates from the Division of Real Estate.  This presentation will help attendees understand recent and upcoming regulatory changes and offer insights into the future of real estate regulation in Illinois.  This valuable session will include a Q&A opportunity.

The Modern Real Estate Agent

Carrie J. Little, B.S, M.S is a practicing Illinois Real Estate Managing Broker and social media and digital marketing strategist. She has trained thousands of licensees to effectively leverage industry technology resources to improve their practice as a real estate broker.

In this presentation, she will help attendees to better understand the needs of ‘modern’ real estate brokers (and students). She’ll discuss important considerations in course writing/development, the approval process, and best practices that will enable successful student registration and engagement.

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training

Marcio Mendoza, an experienced trainer with the Illinois Department of Human Rights, will present important, fundamental training that’s relevant for all professionals and required for IDFPR licensees to renew their license(s).

Attendees will engage in a series of thoughtful discussions and exercises that address perceptions of appropriate and inappropriate conduct. Participants will learn about types of sexual harassment, issues including third-party and bystander sexual harassment, and more. The training will encourage attendees to report sexual harassment and help build a culture of respect.

Attendees will receive a Certificate that highlights their attendance in this portion of the program, which is intended to satisfy the sexual harassment prevention training requirement for IDFPR-licensed professionals.
