Tax Topics for Illinois Real Estate Educators

Chris Bird is a Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP) who has been in the financial business for over 30 years, including 16 years working as a Senior IRS agent.

Chris began conducting training programs after leaving the IRS.  He now delivers over 125 seminars a year on taxes, wealth building, residential rental property ownership, and tax strategies for the real estate and financial industries nationwide.  He is a licensed Illinois Real Estate Broker.

This presentation will provide valuable information and guidance for real estate educators, who typically employ independent contractors or personally work in that capacity.   Chris will:

  • Discuss the most significant tax deductions, write-offs, and strategies that self employed and business owners can utilize to legally minimize federal tax liabilities.
  • Compare and contrast the some of the changes in federal tax laws that impact clients, consumers and real estate professionals.
  • Identify business changes to take advantage of the tax law amendments over the past 4 years.
