    • Pre-License and Continuing Education Instructor license candidates who must complete instructor development training in connection with their initial license application.

    Focus on Fair Housing

    Allison Bethel

    Allison Bethel is a Clinical Professor of Law and Director of the Fair Housing Legal Clinic at the University of Illinois Chicago.

    Allison teaches courses, develops educational programs for the public and professionals, and supervises staff and students as they litigate fair housing cases.  The Clinic is dedicated to educating the public about fair housing law and providing legal assistance to private or public organizations that seek to eliminate discriminatory housing practices.

    In this presentation, Allison will discuss ongoing and emerging fair housing concerns. She will also review recent changes to the Illinois Human Rights Act and their impact for real estate professionals.

    Practical Transaction Considerations in Today’s Market

    Libby is an experienced Illinois attorney who began her legal career as an assistant State’s Attorney prosecuting misdemeanors and arguing criminal appellate cases before the Illinois Appellate Court and Illinois Supreme Court. She later transitioned to the private sector where she became a managing partner at Caputo & Popovic PC.  Libby is also a licensed Illinois real estate broker and instructor.

    Libby has extensive experience working with clients on residential and commercial real estate transactions. In this presentation, Libby will discuss her recent experience and trends impacting Illinois real estate transactions.

    Strategies to Showcase and Amplify Your Value

    In her long-time role with the REALTOR® association, Deborah has created and coordinated training and professional development programs for thousands of Illinois real estate professionals.

    In this presentation, Deborah will help event attendees to define and communicate their value to potential students and the organizations that hire instructors, presenters, and other training professionals.

    Following her presentation, Deborah will facilitate a panel discussion among new and experienced real estate educators, who will each share their experiences and recommendations related to their journeys to become licensed instructors, experienced public speakers, and valuable resources to the students who attend their training programs. Panel members include Cheryl McDonald, Justin Letheby and Nonye Ononogbu.
